When To Act

When you need structural dehumidification.

The water you can see is the easy part.

We can extract that in a few hours. What causes the lasting damage is the water that wicks into your 2x4s, your sheathing, the back of your drywall, and the underside of your hardwood floors.
With our humidity, that trapped moisture has nowhere to go.
Common reasons people call us: a supply line under the sink, a failed water heater, an overflowed dishwasher, roof leaks after one of the heavier spring storms, sewage backups, and groundwater coming up into the crawlspace after a long wet stretch.
Older brick ranches around Plaza Midwood and SouthPark are particularly bad for hidden moisture because their wall cavities don't breathe well.
Crawlspaces under newer builds in Huntersville and Ballantyne hold water for a different reason, namely that our red clay subsoil drains about as well as a clay flowerpot with no hole in the bottom.

The Process

When we arrive, the first job is mapping the moisture. We use penetrating and non-penetrating meters to find every wet pocket, including parts of the wall and subfloor you can't see, and we mark the affected areas in pencil so we know what we're tracking.

After that we set up containment. Refrigerant or desiccant dehumidifiers get sized to the cubic footage and the class of water loss, paired with axial movers placed to pull moisture out of materials and back through the dehumidifier coils.

Twice a day we come back to check grain depression, temperature, and material moisture readings, and we move equipment as the structure dries down. Most jobs hit drying goals in three to five days.

A saturated crawlspace under a 1960s rancher off Central Avenue can run a day or two longer than that. You'll get daily readings, photos, and a final dry certificate your adjuster can use.
